April showers bring May flowers, as the old saying goes, and the next few days will be no different. We’re gearing up to have quite the gloomy, rainy weekend. I’m sitting down to create my little to-do list for the next couple days and all I’ve got is rain on the mind, so I thought I’d make today’s post all about activities that are perfect for a weekend stuck inside (which I will definitely be).
Have A Spa Day
There’s nothing better than spending a rainy day in with a hot bubble bath and lots of skincare goodies. I love using rainy days as an excuse to pamper myself a bit, whether it’s a new mani/pedi, a full at-home facial, or just an hour in the bath with my favorite Lush products and a new magazine. This weekend, I’m planning on indulging in quite a few treatments and masks to pamper my skin to oblivion.
Read A Good Book
When the rain is really coming down, I love curling up on the couch with a snuggly blanket and my current read. There’s just something about the continuous hum of the rain hitting the rooftop that lulls me into a state of calm, perfect for focusing on a good book and getting lost for a few hours. What I’ll usually do is light a candle or two and brew some fresh tea to create the perfect ambiance for reading.
Clean & Organize
One thing that is definitely on my to-do list this weekend is to clean and organize my bedroom. Since I’m stuck inside, why not spend some time cleaning the place up (it is spring after all). A rainy weekend can be the perfect excuse to get things cleaned out and have a good declutter of your belongings.
If I’m feeling particularly low because of the gloomy weather, I’ll usually spend a Saturday evening vegging out in front of the tv with some take out and Netflix. I love binge-watching a new show or catching up on what my favorite Youtubers are up to, and by the end of the night I’m definitely in a better mood. Lately I’ve been watching a bunch of Kate’s vlogs and Lola’s tutorials, as well as pretty much anything Tati uploads.
Hit The Kitchen
One of my favorite things to do when it’s rainy outside is to bake. Anyone else? There’s just something about mixing up a fresh batch of oatmeal cookies or a few loaves of banana nut bread that makes the home feel cozy (and my belly feel happy, haha). Also, a candle can never beat the scent of fresh baked goods – it’s warm, inviting, and forever nostalgic.
