Last week I flew out with my mom and sister to have a little reunion with my mom’s side of the family. They live in and around Las Vegas, so I knew I’d need to pack beauty products that would work well with intense heat. I had a pretty good stash of items in my bag, but there were definitely some items that stood out from the rest. Since we’re still working our way through some end of summer heat, I though I’d share them with you guys in case you’re heading anywhere hot as well.
Flights are notorious for having extremely dry air, which is really bad for the skin. I used this opportunity to bring along my Jet Lag Mask from Summer Fridays, and while it was super helpful for the plane, it proved to be even more beneficial throughout the week as a treatment for my parched skin. The dry desert air was wreaking havoc on my skin, so at night I would apply a thin layer to my face before bed and I kid you not, I would wake up to baby soft skin every morning. This is definitely one of those products that lives up to the hype, which is why I can justify the higher price tag.
My days were spent running around seeing different sights, visiting fun restaurants, and doing a bit of shopping, so a full face of makeup needed to last pretty much all day without looking dried out or cakey. This is where Glossier’s Soothing Face Mist came into play. I had the full size at the house we were staying at and the travel size in my purse for touch ups throughout the day, and boy did it come in handy. There’s nothing better than a cool, refreshing mist on the face when you’re feeling overheated and your makeup is starting to feel crusty. This was so soothing to use to help cool my skin down when I was hot, and it was great for refreshing the look of my makeup and give some life back to my complexion.
The Vegas heat meant lots of shorts and tank tops, so keeping my limbs looking nice was a daily must. I hate the feel of heavy moisturizers in the summer. Luckily, I came across the Quench Me Body Sorbet from Zoella Beauty before my trip, and it really proved to be the perfect lightweight moisturizer for the intense heat. This is actually the first item I’ve tried from Zoella Beauty, and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. The packaging is really cute, the price is affordable, the scent is perfect for summer (coconut!), and the product itself is great quality. It has a light, almost watery texture that fully absorbs into the skin quickly, which I’m a huge fan of.
Do you have any hot-weather beauty favorites that have saved the day this summer?
